Ahh, I love when you can REALLY feel that Spring has arrived!
There is something to be said about being able to go outside in just a sweater (verses a shirt, a sweater, winter jacket and all the goodies like mittens).. actually, there is something to be said about being able to spend more time outside than what it takes to run as fast as you can from the house to the car and still feeling like a popsicle.
I love how 'new' Spring is. To actually be able to see the grass changing from brown to the fresh green, seeing the buds appear on trees, flowers beginning to emerge from the ground, and the plethora of birds and other wildlife that seem to reemerge from hiding.. Everything old is new again.
I hear the word 'rebirth' being tossed around often in regards to the Easter holiday and for Spring as a whole. I like that sentiment - using the changing season as a starting point for your own personal 'rebirth', so to speak. To hell with New Years resolutions! Why not start a new tradition and make a resolution in the Spring?
I personally think I would be a little more inclined to actually follow through with a resolution (*cough*) when it is not -30C and I am cooped up inside.
I personally don't have any resolutions that I am hoping to make/follow through, but I can appreciate the 'rebirth', as I have had to make a lot of changes in my life this year so far.

Ch-ch-changes!
I've been back from Mazatlan for about a week now.. and honestly, I STILL cannot wipe the smile off of my face from that trip.
It's amazing how ONE week can change a person.. Hell, it amazes me sometimes how much one DAY can change a person/your life.
The first day we were in Mazatlan, my friends commented they were a little worried about me. They were not sure if I was just in shock about actually being there or if I was just still blue from the chaos the past few months happenings..
A few drinks in, and meeting some amazing people, that changed.
I met an amazing guy out there.. and let me tell you, if we lived in the same country I wouldn't most certainly scoop this fellow up! We connected from the start and had a strange ease with each other, that I haven't felt in a long time.. Regardless, just meeting someone who was so kind, unselfish, thoughtful and a real gentleman made me open my eyes.
I proclaimed to my BFF out in Mazatlan that I had not felt THAT happy in months.. and I am rather relieved to see that I still continue to feel that happiness, even being right back into the grind of work and "real" life.
I had an 'incident' the other day where I ran into my ex.. In the past, I think I would have crumpled and broke down. This time? I could simply walk away and let the situation be. No tears.
The above mentioned Mexican sweetheart charmed me, and we had some really great talks in the evenings.. It really helped me to let go of some past 'hurt' and look positively towards the future.
I cannot thank my mom enough for encouraging me to take this trip (as I was wavering prior) and for my friends that I was with for making it the best trip of my life... and of course to my Mexican sweetheart for giving me my smile back!
At the risk of sounding corny, this trip CHANGED me.. and that? I wouldn't change it for the world.

Mazatlan
I just returned home from Mazatlan last night..
Wow.
I cannot even begin to describe how amazing the trip was.. Other than the beautiful weather and scenery, the people also are beyond wonderful in their kindness and the freedom they express through their way of living.
This trip was very much what my soul needed - I have come back feeling like a new person in oh so many ways.
